2020 Vision: Week 5

Here's the scoop on how I'm doing on my list this week!

1. Walk 20 minutes a day
I am rocking this one! I've kept the streak up this long so I do not want to break it. 

2. Win a Healthy Wage
I think the scale is playing a joke on me, but not a funny one, haha (sarcastic laugh.) I'm up one pound, sitting at 226.75. For some reason, I'm having a tough time breaking through 225 even though I was stuck right around 220 for most of the end of last year. I think a lot of it is stress and I am so hoping to put some of that behind us soon when we finally get our own place! 

3. Do yoga 3x a week for 20 minutes a time 
2/3 I didn't get all my sessions in this week (I'd blame Steve but he didn't come over till after 10 most days so I technically had time.) Next week I'll do 4 to make up for it.

4. Do a 20km walk

5. Run 2 miles in under 20 minutes

6. Read/re-read 20 classic novels

7. Read 20 different theologians

8. Read 20 psychology books

9. Meditate for 20 minutes a week

10. Visit 20 churches
6/20 We visited St. Alban's Cathedral this week with Steve and it was amazing! I'll be writing a blog post on it soon! 

11. Make the perfect steak at home 

12. Sew pockets into my thrift store dresses

13. Work on learning a foreign language 20 minutes a week
Steve made me practice speaking French on a walk home from the grocery store so that was 10 minutes of practice (and made me realize how much more I need to practice to be conversational.) I also listened to a podcast about a rebel winemaker! So really, I did extra this week. (But it does not count ahead.) 

14. Try 20 new to me foods

15. For 20 consecutive days eat 20g of carbs or less

16. Practice 20 dishes for Come Dine with Me

17. Every single day set aside $20 towards savings and/or debt repayment

18. Spend 20 minutes a day (or 140 minutes/week) writing towards something to publish
Yup, still behind. Still keeping track. I am reading an interesting book on habit formation, though, and it is inspiring me to create a ritual around my writing time. (Ya know, when I have my own place and an office and can do such things.) I'm thinking a cup of tea, lighting a candle, and listening to classical music will be my clues to myself that it's time to settle in and get some writing done! I am honestly looking forward to digging deep into this one when I can have the right environment. 

19. Go on 20 free excursions
4/20 This week we went to St. Albans and Milton Keynes with Steve, then to the Medieval town of Lavenham with Vince and Joan. We enjoyed free excursions and things to do in all three places! 

20. Play 20 sessions of board games
1/20 On Wednesday we had a game night with Vince, Joan and Steve. We don't have any board games yet so we settled for a deck of cards and had a really fun two hours playing President!
