My Watch List for 2026

Submitted by Bethany on Thu, 01/01/2026 - 07:39

Happy New Year!

Here is where I'll keep track of what we watch in 2026!

My Watch List for 2026:

Movies:

1. Work It (Netflix)
This dance movie starred Sabrina Carpenter pre-fame and it was...not very good. I'd skip it.

2. Elio (Disney+)
Joel and I skipped this one in theaters, and after watching it, I'm glad we did. I watched it with my brother and was glad I had my phone to entertain me as well.

3. Agatha Christie's Seven Dials (Netflix)
I loved a good murder mystery, and this one was quite enjoyable. I'd love to see a sequel.

4. Send Help (Cineworld)
I really wanted to enjoy this one - the concept was great - an a-hole CEO and his highly capable underling get stranded on a desert island. The tables have turned as she has survival skills and he does not. But unfortunately, for me, the movie went some places I could just not get on board with, nor enjoy.

5. Anniversary (Netflix)
This one had a slight timeline problem (the parents should have been married for more than 25 years at the first anniversary party) but the acting was superb and the story super intriguing. It follows one family as an extreme political ideology takes over the United States. At times it was a bit to eery and close to home, Joel kept saying, "this is really difficult to watch." But, like, in a good way.

6. The Rip (Netflix)
This movie starred Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and they were excellent in it. The story was intense and fast-paced and we very much enjoyed it.

7. Shelter (Cineworld)
Joel and I are suckers for a Jason Statham movie and this was no exception. I loved the intrigue, and though the young girl actress was a bit of an over-actor, her character was better written than most in similar stories.

8. I Give It a Year (Netflix)
This rom-com was a perfect pick for Valentine's Day!

9. A Knight's Tale (Cineworld)
It was fun to re-watch this classic on the big screen!

10. Crime 101 (Cineworld)
This movie tried hard to be something that it just...was not. The acting was excellent, but the heart of the story was completely missing for me.

11. Cold Storage (Cineworld)
I kept expecting more from this zombie film, but it never quite got there. Liam Neeson was funny but it was lacking something overall.

12. Scream 7 (Cineworld)
I have slowly come to really enjoy the Scream franchise. Although, I found myself annoyed with Sidney Prescott for not doing more to prep her daughter for a dangerous world! That just seemed like bad parenting.

13. The Old Guard (Netflix)
We re-watched this so we could watch the sequel and I enjoyed it again.

14. The Old Guard 2 (Netflix)
Both of these are worth a watch if you want a satisfying action film with an interesting premise!

15. War Machine (Netflix)
This was a decent popcorn film starring the guy from the Reacher series. Worth a watch!

16. The Fall Guy (Netflix)
We saw this in theaters when it came out and never understood why it wasn't a bigger hit. It was just as good, if not better, the second time around!

17. Nonnas (Netflix)
This was a cheesy heart-warmer based on a true story.

18. How to Make a Killing (Cineworld)
I really thought I would enjoy this one but it was majorly lacking heart. It could have been a witty and incisive film for these times. I was hoping for a clever "Eat the Rich" satire, but it felt incredibly short. I left very disappointed.

19. Project Hail Mary (Cineworld)
I read this book in 2024 and loved it, so I was very excited for this movie. We went to an early screening in hopes of Joel not seeing any spoilers beforehand. Somehow we avoided them all and he loved the movie, too! I am hoping to see this one again in theaters, and it will be a must-purchase for our home collection.

20. The Mechanic: Resurrection (Netflix)

21. Ready or Not (Disney+)
We re-watched this one to prepare for the sequel. I loved it the first time we saw it and Joel didn't, but he actually paid attention this time and agreed it's a good movie!

22. Ready or Not 2 (Cineworld)
I was prepared for this to be a sucky sequel, but it was actually really fun and entertaining. It picks up exactly where the first one leaves off, and if you liked the first one, you'll love this one.

23. Push (YouTube TV)

24. The Gorge (Apple TV)
This one has been on my list for a long time and we finally got Apple TV back and this was our first movie watch. It was so good! One of us loved the ending and the other wished it was different...I'll let you decided who is who :)

25. Without Remorse (Prime)
I'm pretty sure we saw this Michael B Jordan film when it came out,  but we didn't keep a list back in 2021...so we saw it again!

26. Super Mario Galaxy (Cineworld - 3D4DX)
I was excited to take my brother to a 3D4DX movie and this was the perfect choice!

27. Better Off Dead (YouTube TV)
Joel was excited for us to watch this 80s classic. It wasn't my favourite but I can see the appeal.

28. The Wrecking Crew (Prime)
This Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista vehicle is a straightforward action flick. It's great with a bucket of popcorn! The end was totally a set-up for a sequel, and to be honest, I'll watch it.

29. The Family Plan 2 (Apple TV)

30. The Mummy (HBO Max)

31. Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice (Disney+)

32. Fountain of Youth (Apple TV)

33. Mercy (Prime)

34. Roofman (Prime)

35. The Magic Faraway Tree (Cineworld)

36. The Devil Wears Prada (Disney+)
You can really feel the 2006 on this re-watch!

37. The Devil Wears Prada 2 (Cineworld)
I wasn't sure where they could go with a sequel, but we went in with low expectations and they were exceeded! I enjoyed the fashion, the overall story, and the humour.

Series:

1. Younger (Netflix)
I highly enjoyed this series starring Sutton Foster and Hayley Duff. Sutton plays a woman who is re-entering the job market at 40, and pretends to be 25 so she can get a job! Hijinx and heartwarming scenarios both ensue.

2. His & Hers (Netflix) [Limited Series]
This limited series was decent enough, though it probably could have been a movie. About halfway through the penultimate episode I realized I had actually read the book it was based on!

3. Bridgerton (Netflix) [Season 4]
This was probably my least favourite season so far (I find the Cinderella trope rather tired) but it was still a fun watch.

4. Queer Eye (Netflix) [Final season]
I'm a sucker for Queer Eye episodes, a personal makeover, a home makeover, and heartwarming stories all in one!

5. Love is Blind (Netflix) [Season 10]
I recognise this show is trash, but I will watch every season they make anyway, lol. It's a good background show! I absolutely adored Vic and Christine this season, they were perfection.

6. Dept Q (Netflix) [Season 1]
This show was excellent. It is dark and tragic, but there was enough humor to keep it watchable for me. I hope they make more seasons!

7. Shrinking [Season 3]
This is one of our favourite shows ever, and it just keeps getting better!

8. Young Sherlock [Prime]
This show is excellent and I hope plenty of people watch it so they will make more!

Other:

1. Taylor Tomlinson: Prodigal Daughter
I am picky about comedians, but I really enjoy Taylor Tomlinson! This show was set in beautiful churh which was very interesting considering the content. I appreciate that she isn't crass and vulgar like many comedians.
