We've been on a bit of a musical kick lately, watching Chicago, Mouline Rouge, and the Phantom of the Opera. It was interesting to watch Mouline Rouge and Phantom back to back. The love stories in them are exact opposites. In Mouline Rouge, the main female falls in love with the penniless man, but has to pretend to love the rich man. In Phantom, she truly loves the rich man, but has to pretend to love the penniless man. I had never noticed that symmetry before.
Something else I had never noticed, the phantom is played by GERARD BUTLER! Gerard Butler, y'all!
Seriously, that's Gerard Butler. Mind. Blown.
