Operation Finale is based on a true story about a spy undertaking to bring a Nazi war criminal to justice. Sometimes movies based on historical events can be slow and kind of boring. This is not one of those movies.

The movie follows the group of Israeli operatives as they root out and then decide how to deal with Adolf Eichmann, a man known as "the architect of the final solution". If you aren't familiar with the story (I wasn't), the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat as you wait breathlessly to see what happens. There are so many moments filled with tension and apprehension, and I found myself constantly rooting for the plan to succeed. There were also some really fascinating moments of relationship building and psychology between Eichmann and one of the spies, Peter Malkin.

Even if you do know the story and how it all eventually turns out, you will still enjoy this movie. The acting is superb, and even I noticed some good cinematography happening (I don't usually notice that kind of thing). I got a strange sense of enjoyment out of watching Nick Kroll in a serious role - I've only ever seen him play rather douche-y characters in dumb comedies but he was great in this as Rafi Eitan.

If you like historical movies you definitely need to watch this one. Even if you usually don't, if you love a good spy thriller this one will be right up your alley. I highly recommend it!
