I like it when movies surprise me. I don't hate movies that are predictable, because I like rewatchability, but I want them to have twists that I can watch for next time. If the movie doesn't have an interesting twist or angle, then the characters should be deep and rich. This movie failed on all of these fronts.
You Get Me is a love story, kinda, that turns diabolical when a one-night-stand becomes something more insidious. This really gives the movie too much credit. I wish I could tear into the movie more, but I can't without giving too much away. I did like Bella Thorne's acting, but the script was really pretty terrible. And so many other characters were poorly written and not-well acted.
The movie had a lot of potential, but the direction it was taken was uninspired and derivative. I really thought they would take some risks with the movie, but they did not. I was disappointed. There were some enjoyable scenes, but they weren't able to lift this movie out from the bog of terribleness. I suggest watching something else.
