Usually, scary movies can creep me out or give me a jump or two, but not this one. The story was interesting, I guess, but the characters weren't. If you like movies that are a little scary without much gore, then this fits into that category. It's based on the 'true' story of the Winchester family and one of the most haunted houses in the United States.

Winchester follows the story of a doctor that has fallen to debauchery and drugs. He is offered a great sum of money if he can determine the sanity of the majority holder of the Winchester Rifle company. He arrives at their house and strange stuff starts happening. Sarah Winchester feels a great deal of guilt for the deaths caused by her company's weapons. She feels haunted by the spirits and wants to help them become at ease.

There are a few decent jumps, although I didn't jump or even become unnerved once. It's a cool concept, but it just wasn't that gripping to me. Helen Mirren was great, as usual. I'm not really that scared of malevolent spirits in movies, so maybe you'll get more out of it if you are.
