I must admit that I have a thing for quirky independent films, but they aren't all gems. Some of them are a little too silly, or a little too slow. They are almost all character studies, which are probably my favorite type of movie (except maybe fantasy movies.... or superhero movies... but I digress!) This movie has a little bit of all those things! Quirky, yep! A little silly and slow, sure, but character study AND fantasy AND SUPERHERO (cuz it's got Captain Marvel and Nick Fury in it!) So, yeah... I enjoyed this movie, but it's definitely not for everyone. But it's for me!

Unicorn Store tells the story of a young woman searching for her place in life. She dropped out of art school and now lives with her very supportive parents. One day, she decides that she's giving up on her dreams and joining the corporate world by getting hired as a temp. But then she gets a strange invitation that leads her to a unicorn store, if she can prove she's worthy of it. Of course, people around her are dubious... will she let the world control her, or will she take control of her world? Is this her real life, or is this just fantasy? Is she caught in a landslide with no escape from reality?

Well, open your eyes and watch this movie if you like films like this. And for fans of Cabin In The Woods, you get another movie with Bradley Whitford and a unicorn! BONUS!!
