The rating says it all: "I feel bad making MoviePass pay for this." There are movies that make me regret our plan to see every single new movie coming to our smalltown Iowa theater and this is definitely one of those movies.

The characters were awful. Their motivations were stupid. The plot was ill-conceived and pretty obvious. I'm not sure if there were more plot holes or terrible jokes. I did actually smile a couple times and laugh once, though! The music is almost all Elton John (he's an executive producer on it), so it's pretty good, actually! The animation was good, too! Which makes sense, since check out who the Technical Director for the Art Department is! Seriously! Go take a look! (Sadly, no relation... or maybe there IS!)

Ok, so... Sherlock Gnomes is about these lawn gnomes that are like the toys in Toy Story... the come to life when no one is looking. But this makes less sense, cuz they actually do gardening, so they'd definitely be caught. And all of them do it, not just these. And gargoyles, too. Apparently, the writers don't realize there are cameras that would catch them, but whatever. So Sherlock and Watson find missing gnomes and Sherlock's life isn't the same after defeating Moriarty, but new gnome-nappers arrive, so they team up with Gnomeo and Juliet, who suddenly can't get along cuz reasons, and this movie is terrible.

Don't be fooled by the big names here. It makes me sad that such talented people gave their names for this movie. If the trailer looks good to you, you might enjoy the movie (even though most of the trailer never appears in the movie). I thought the trailer looked terrible and I thought the movie was terrible. I try not to give spoilers that aren't in the trailer, so I can't fully vent about the movie, but I really didn't like it.
