The writing was on the wall from the beginning of the movie. You just knew everything that was going to happen. This movie just didn't need to be made. And I like a good RomCom. This was far from good, though.

Set It Up follows a couple of assistants trying to survive in the big city. They're under paid, under appreciated, and looking for a break. Of course, they're completely essential to their bosses while being treated like garbage the whole time. So they hatch a plan: make their bosses happy by setting them up! With the other boss! They know their bosses, so they'll know what each of them like! We know how this will work, but I don't want to give spoilers here... so... yeah. Not that I feel you could really spoil this movie, but I guess that's a spoiler, too, technically. /sigh

You really should skip this movie. I mean, these assistants are essential to these bosses and still under paid and under appreciated? It makes so little sense and is a tired trope. Highly successful people are typically SMART and understand the value of a good assistant! That's why Devil Wears Prada is so much better than this pile of nonsense. The characters were kinda cute and the acting was decent, but the story was just so tired and lazy, it made the entire movie just dull. Instead of turning this on and scrolling on your phone for 90 minutes, just skip it and watch something else.
