I knew I was going to enjoy this movie, if only for the singing.  I thoroughly enjoyed the music in the first two movies, so I had high hopes this one would be more of the same, and it did not disappoint.  I will admit I was apprehensive about the story line - what could they possibly to for a third movie that wouldn't be absurd, far-fetched and over the top?

Well, the movie was absurd, far-fetched, and over the top.  Thankfully, it seemed the movie knew this about itself.  It did not take itself too seriously which made it that much more enjoyable.  There were several running jokes throughout the movie that were rather "meta" and poked fun at the series itself, which I loved.  The whole thing started with my least favorite movie trope of all time - showing a portion of the climax, then reverting to "Three Weeks Earlier".  I hate, hate, hate that kind of opening.  But from there we see the Bella's getting together for a reunion, and booking a gig on  USO tour so they can perform together a few last times.

Of course there are silly romps along the way, flirtations with boys, a classic "riff-off" and all sorts of shenanigans.  The main story line follows Fat Amy and a dangerous reunion with someone from her past.  It's ridiculous and hilarious, but again, since the movie doesn't try to play it as a straightforward, serious story line, it works.  I'm not quite sure how, but it works.  Overall this is a fun movie with a silly premise, and in the end it ties up the story of the Bella's and each individual girl in a satisfying way.  You can't ask for much more from a movie like this.
