Not gonna lie, I was really looking forward to this movie.  Every time we saw a preview for it (which was often) I was cracking up.  And those same exact scenes, when they showed up in the movie, still had me cracking up!  That's a sign of a good comedy to me - when the jokes are funny on multiple viewings, rather than just the first time.

The story follows Deanna (Melissa McCarthy) as her husband dumps her for another woman after 22 years of marriage, and she attempts to put her life back together by going to college and finishing her degree.  The same college, of course, where her daughter is now a senior.  What follows is a myriad of hijinks one might expect when a 40 year old woman goes back to school and parties with her 22 year old daughter.  There are hilarious moments and heartwarming ones, and we see most of the characters grow in some way.  Personally, I could not get enough of this movie.

I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud at a movie as much as I did with this one (maybe Game Night?).  I may have noticed it more this time because my back is bothering me and every full laugh elicited a stab of pain, but even with that, it was worth it.  If you're ready for a good laugh with a few touching moments sprinkled in, I highly recommend this movie.
