I didn't think I'd like this movie at all. The first one was pretty terrible, with eye-rolling jokes and terrible characters that made little sense, ever. I have to admit, though... this one was better. It was even possibly good. I know! I couldn't believe it, either!

Daddy's Home Two continues the story of Dusty and Brad: dad and stepdad. They've made a decision to be co-dads to their kids and things are working out GREAT! Until... in come their own dads to add conflict and hijinx! Will Ferrell (Brad) and John Lithgow are overly affectionate while Mark Wahlberg (Dusty) and Mel Gibson are stoic and masculine. Gibson can't believe that his son has turned into such a pansy, and sets out to prove that Dusty and Brad have more issues than they let on. More conflict, more drama, more bad dad decisions until everyone is mad at each other. But of course, they all make up in the end.

Yeah, it's pretty corny, but somehow this works. The characters aren't caricatures of imaginary people like in Bad Moms Christmas. They are people that you might actually know! They have reactions that people actually have! Sure, some scenes are too much and I rolled my eyes, but there was a lot of heart in this movie. I LOVED the scene where they all come together over the thermostat being messed with. So, yeah, I admit it. I was wrong about this movie. It was actually pretty darn good.

Your thoughts?

Is it wrong I want to see that fake trailer toward the end of this movie as a real movie. The Liam holiday action flick looked so fun.

I would LOVE to see a 'sequel' to a movie that is really just the movie mentioned in another movie! Make it happen, Hollywood!
