This movie kept popping up in my newsfeed as a recommendation from friends and about a dozen Buzzfeed articles. I was excited to watch it so I could join in the conversation! (Ironically now that I've seen it I've seen exactly 0 articles on it). All I knew going in was that it is a love story, and I know I love those!

The story follows a teenage girl, Lara Jean, who is the middle of three sisters, and prefers to daydream about relationships and being in love over actually experiencing it. She has written love letters to five boys over the years (including her sister's boyfriend!) when she had crushes that she just couldn't contain. The letters are safely tucked away in a box in her closet... or are they? When the letters get out, her life starts going haywire!

The movie is well written, extremely well acted, and equal parts heartwarming and hilarious. I was hooked into the story the entire time, there were no parts that felt slow or like they could be cut. It took me back to that anxious time in high school - waiting to see if the boy you like likes you, the social pressures of wanting to fit in, but all in a good, nostalgic way. All the characters were realistic and relatable. I particularly enjoyed the performances by the lead actress, Lana Condor, and John Corbett has her goofy and loving dad.

In my opinion this movie is the very best of what a teenage coming of age love story has to offer. I think it will be an instant classic that is watched and talked about for decades. If you love romantic comedies you will love it, and if you don't, you might still give this one a chance. It is just that good!
