I have a soft spot for animated movies and particularly any that play into my love of Halloween (although, sadly, Hotel Transylvania 3 fell far short of expectations.) Since we are just jumping back into seeing movies in the theaters, I didn't have much in the way of expectations for 100% Wolf, although I had figured out it was an Australian film after about ten seconds of watching a preview!

The story features the Lupin family - a pack of good werewolves! They don't go crazy at the full moon and attack people, they run around town saving people from fires! Firefighting werewolves? I'm in! Freddy Lupin is the son of the leader of the pack and he is about to come of age and turn into a wolf for the first time - and he can't wait to see what ferocious form he will take! On the night of his wolfing things go awry...and what follows is a pretty classic coming of age story.

This movie has heart and a surprising amount of clever humor. Oftentimes movies geared towards children rely on pretty low-brow humor, but this one did not (always) go that easier route. Joel and I both laughed out loud many times! If you are looking for a fun family-friendly romp that will keep your kids and you entertained for an hour and a half, you really can't go wrong with this one. You'll get some good laughs and a good life lesson or two for the kiddos to boot.
