Pandemic Pizza: Part 24

If you have been following my pandemic pizza journey then you know I have created some unusual pizzas. But there is one topping I promise I will never try…cicadas!

In the eastern U.S. the genus of cicadas that spend 17 years underground as nymphs have emerged to serenade us with their loud voices. In some parts of the world cicadas are a delicacy, eaten either deep fried or dipped in chocolate. And now… on pizza? Check out the pizza made by this Ohio pizzeria!

I don’t know about you, but I am not even willing to take a little taste!

Since cicadas are not an option, what have I topped my pizzas with this week?

Awhile back I asked if anyone had any topping suggestions. A friend of mine suggested cauliflower. Now I have seen riced cauliflower crusts, but I don’t think that counts as pizza. I decided to do something with roasted cauliflower. A few weeks ago I made a honey mustard curry chicken for dinner. The sauce was so good I thought I would try it on a pizza. So…

I kept the cauliflower theme going for… Sunday’s Creation: Cauliflower & Prosciutto Pizza on pan crust topped with a roasted garlic cream cheese sauce, Parmesan, Paneer, roasted cauliflower with Ammazza Suocera, tomatoes, prosciutto, red onions, mozzarella and garnished with garlic chives…

Thursday Doughday: We made Copycat Chick-fil-A mini yeast rolls filled with chicken nuggets (Chick-n-Mini’s), crispy potato crowns and fresh fruit…

Any suggestions for future pizza toppings?
