2020 Vision: Week 3

Here's the scoop on how I'm doing on my list this week!

1. Walk 20 minutes a day
Accomplished! So far this is my favorite goal that I have set for myself. It definitely gets me up and moving on days I might otherwise just laze about. 

2. Win a Healthy Wage
I was hoping for a longer streak of downward trajectory but this week I have my first gain. I weighed in at 227 which is +1.25 from last week. I am disappointed, but I also am aware I moved less this week and did not drink nearly enough water. I will change that this week!

3. Do yoga 3x a week for 20 minutes a time 
2/3 I didn't quite get all three practices in this week. There were a few days I could have and I just didn't, even though I know I feel better when I get it done. I will try to make up for it and do four sessions this coming week. 

4. Do a 20km walk

5. Run 2 miles in under 20 minutes

6. Read/re-read 20 classic novels

7. Read 20 different theologians 

8. Read 20 psychology books

9. Meditate for 20 minutes a week
Done! I did a meditation when I was really feeling down this week and it helped. Plus then instead of taking a nap I felt rested from the meditation and got back up to get some stuff done! 

10. Visit 20 churches
5/20 Well I sort of over achieved on this one this week and added four more churches to the list! On Friday we went to Cambridge and explored St. Bene't's then attended Choral Evensong at King's College Chapel (full blog posts to come on those this week.) Then today I attended worship where Joan was preaching and in the afternoon we went to a worship service at another church to celebrate the town's centenary! It was a good week for this goal. 

11. Make the perfect steak at home 

12. Sew pockets into my thrift store dresses

13. Work on learning a foreign language 20 minutes a week
Done! I listened to a Duolingo podcast - this time about a woman who felt caught between two cultures - Paris, where she had lived most of her life, and Cameroon, her home country. 

14. Try 20 new to me foods

15. For 20 consecutive days eat 20g of carbs or less

16. Practice 20 dishes for Come Dine with Me

17. Every single day set aside $20 towards savings and/or debt repayment

18. Spend 20 minutes a day (or 140 minutes/week) writing towards something to publish
I am officially way behind on this one. And here come the excuses...I'm just not in a good place to write right now. Theoretically, I should take advantage of the free time I currently have, but practically, I work best when I can have a modicum of control over the environment around me. I look forward to having a home, an office, a space I can set up as my own to best foster my creativity. I plan to catch up on this goal then. 

19. Go on 20 free excursions
1/20 Vince and Joan took me to Cambridge this week and we did lots of fun and free things! 

20. Play 20 sessions of board games
