I interrupt your regularly scheduled blog posts to bring you a resource that is FREE for this week only!
Have you ever thought about what would happen to your family if something happened to you? I know, it's a morbid thought, but it is something we all need to think about whether we want to or not.
Perhaps you have thought ahead about some things. Hopefully, you have life insurance. (Especially if you're married and especially if you have children.) Perhaps you have a will. Although, if you're anything like me, you don't. I figure I don't quite have enough assets yet to make that worth the time and effort. If you've really thought ahead maybe you have someone designated as your power of attorney who knows your medical wishes and maybe you've spoken with your family or your pastor about your wishes for your funeral.
But even if you have all of those things in place there is one important question - does your family know where to find them? Where is the information on your life insurance? Where is the will? Have you written down your funeral plans? And beyond that - does anyone know your passwords for your email, Facebook, bank accounts? If you and your spouse split financial responsibilities (say one does the day to day budget/planning and the other does long term/retirement stuff) do you know how to access the other accounts?
If something happened to you, would your loved ones be left in chaos trying to figure all of this out? I know that right now, mine would be.
Enter: The Every Little Detail Book
This is a resource created by someone I follow on Instagram and it is amazing. It's a one stop shop for putting all of these important items (and more!) in one place. This book gives you space for everything from financial information and legal documents to funeral wishes and even leaving letters behind for your loved ones to read. It is amazing.
Normally, she charges $25 for this resource. (Which is still a bargain.)
This week only it is FREE if you sign up for her email list!
Here's how you get your copy:
1. Go to her Instagram page here
2. Click on the linktree in her bio
3. Click on the spot that says "Get your FREE book" and sign up!
4. Receive the email and download the resource
Easy peasy! Once you have the resource you can either fill it out on your computer or print it out and fill it in by hand. Either way, she recommends printing a hard copy then keeping it somewhere safe (such as a home safe or a safety deposit box) and letting only 1-2 trusted people know where it is.
It will likely take you a long time to get the book filled out, but once it is all done you will have incredible peace of mind. Both you and your spouse will know where all of the information is located and be able to access it. As someone who has walked with people through the worst times of their lives, losing a loved one, I can honestly say that a resource like this will be invaluable to the people you leave behind. Grief can be complicated so much by not having easy access to this information. I especially love the touch of including letters to your loved ones.
I got my free copy, and I plan to have it completely filled out by the end of 2021. Why am I waiting for so long? Well, our lives need to slow down, calm down and settle down before I can properly fill this in (we don't even have a real address right now, haha.) But for you, you should get started today!
P.S. If you are reading this and it's past the free date, I still think it's well worth the $25 for this resource!
