2020 Vision: Week 1

I want to keep my 20 for 2o list of goals firmly in view this year so each week I will do a check-in on how I am doing. I obviously can't work on every item every week (and some of them are one time things anyway, I'm looking at you #4) so my plan is to highlight each week which ones I have worked on. Hopefully, this practice will help keep me on track throughout the year!

1. Walk 20 minutes a day
Check! I have kept this one up perfectly so far. I am already grateful for it as it will definitely get me up and outside moving far more often. I will fully admit that Saturday I absolutely would not have left the house all day if it weren't for wanting to get my 20 minutes in. Because of this goal, instead of lazing about all day, I went out and walked to the grocery store for milk! 

2. Win a Healthy Wage
I weighed in on January 1st at 229.25. (This is up from my lowest point last year which had me hovering around 220 but not bad for the end of the year/holidays.) This morning I weighed in at 226.5 for a loss of 2.75 pounds. I have some good momentum in the right direction and the walking is certainly helping! (For the record, I need to be at 210 by June 30 to win $535.)

3. Do yoga 3x a week for 20 minutes a time 
1/3 I did one 20 minute yoga session yesterday. I think this one will be easier once I get a routine which will be easier once we settle down! 

4. Do a 20km walk

5. Run 2 miles in under 20 minutes

6. Read/re-read 20 classic novels

7. Read 20 different theologians 

8. Read 20 psychology books

9. Meditate for 20 minutes a week
The week technically started on Wednesday (as it was the first) but going forward I will check in on Sundays. So I didn't technically get this one done this week. I think I'll go meditate when I'm done with this post.

10. Visit 20 churches

11. Make the perfect steak at home 

12. Sew pockets into my thrift store dresses

13. Work on learning a foreign language 20 minutes a week
Again I technically have till Wednesday...I'm also still figuring out how I want to do this. Duolingo has a French language podcast so maybe I'll start by listening to that 20 minutes a week. It would be easy to fit in on a walk!

14. Try 20 new to me foods

15. For 20 consecutive days eat 20g of carbs or less

16. Practice 20 dishes for Come Dine with Me

17. Every single day set aside $20 towards savings and/or debt repayment
The goal of this one is to hit a set amount by the end of the year, so we won't always hit it right here at the beginning. However, once I have a steady paycheck I do plan to actually pay $140 towards debt every Sunday! 

18. Spend 20 minutes a day (or 140 minutes/week) writing towards something to publish
The time is accumulating on this one...but I am keeping track of it and I will get caught up this week. I promise. 

19. Go on 20 free excursions

20. Play 20 sessions of board games
