Small Steps to Big Changes: Week 35

Submitted by Bethany on Sun, 09/08/2019 - 10:00

Reading: 53/52 (+1 for the week)  I finished a memoir this week, and I'm kind of excited to see how far and above my goal I can go on this one!

Language: 23270 XP (+0) Yeah, yeah, still thinking on it.

Weight Loss:

Starting Weight: 266
Current Weight: 222
Weekly Change: +1.5
Total Change: 44
First Goal Weight: 180
Pounds to lose until goal: 42

Alright, so, I'm up 1.5 over the last two weeks. Considering all of the traveling and the "mix-it-up" days we have had (aka times when we haven't been able to stick to our intermittent fasting hours) I'm okay with that. I think I have some good momentum going forward and I am really truly ready to say goodbye to the 220's for good.

Out of curiosity, I looked up where I was in January of this year. I feel like I've done a lot of up/down this year, losing the same pounds over and over. Since January I have lost a total of 16 pounds. Not great, but not bad. I have to keep reminding myself that slow and steady wins this race - it's about changing our lifestyle - not just racing to the number I want to see on the scale. I have faith that this slow and steady decline means that when I finally get to goal weight I'll actually be able to stay there.

So, onward and upward! Or, onward and downward, haha!

Your thoughts?

I'm reminded of when you told me about the need for our bodies to heal itself that doesn't show on the scale. It helped me try to frame the time that is so hard to stick to. You're doing amazing! You are inspiring.

Oh yes, that is helpful to remember! I think my body goes through this every 10 pounds or so. It was hard to break through 230, then it finally happened. Now I'm stalling at breaking through 220, but I know I will get there. That healing part is so important! Thank you for the continued encouragement!
