Small Steps to Big Changes: Week 8

Reading: 17/52 (+3 for the week) I read a real book this week! Check out my book list post to see what I'm reading. I would have probably had three read this week as I was planning to read a lot on the plane from England to France, but I ended up sitting next to a lady who chatted with me the whole time. Ah well, I think I'll have plenty of time to read in France as we are quite rural with not much else to do!

Language: 23270 XP (+600 for the week) Can you believe that the week we move to France is the week I do the least amount of French learning? Go figure. The app made a change that I don't like - it costs lingots (game money) to test out of levels now, which I'll admit has turned me off to Duolingo a bit. That coupled with a friend in town for a few days then the chaos of packing up and moving to a new country, and I lost my streak!

Ok so the scale went another half a pound in the wrong direction this week, which sucks. However, it was a rough week what with splurging on some final English delicacies before we left, emotional eating with the wreck that was GC 2019, and then traveling, so I'm calling a half a pound gain a win. (In the past I could have easily eaten my way to a 3-5 pound gain in a week). Now that we are getting settled in a new place I'm ready to get back on track with fresh veggies and regular workouts, so we'll see what changes I can bring about by next week! I'm still shooting for that below 230 number, but it is being elusive as it has in year's past! But it will be mine!
