Well that was a big old whomp, whomp on the scale this morning. I still went down, but instead of the hoped for and worked for 9 pounds...I lost 0.6 pounds. I know I shouldn't be too disappointed, I'm still losing, and I have definitely felt my body changing this week. My stomach is getting smaller and a t-shirt that was super tight when we left the States is now really loose! But I really wanted the scale to reflect my work this week and it just didn't.
I'm also disappointed because I made the mistake of weighing myself mid-week on Wednesday. I just wanted to see where I was...and I was down like seven pounds! But it must have been some weird fluctuation that day because it almost immediately all came back on. Note to self: you weigh in once a week for a reason!
That Healthy Wage goal is moving further and further out of reach, but I'm going to keep trying till the last minute! This week I'm going to up the veggies (for real, didn't do great with that last week) and cut the carbs. I've been eating tons of bread and pasta here because it's inexpensive and filling, and let's be real, carbs are my favorite food. But I know I'll do better if I focus on lean meat and veggies, at least for the next two weeks! Thankfully veggies are also inexpensive here, we got a cucumber, zucchini, tons of lettuce, and five tomatoes for €2.50 at the fruit market. Seriously, a week's worth of veggies for like three bucks!
I've also decided to let Joel be in charge of my exercise this week. I'm too quick to let myself off the hook so I need someone telling me what to do! We'll see how it goes this week!
