Holy moly! Another three weeks has flown by, oh my! I keep thinking life will slow down but I might just need to get used to the fact that that will never happen. Right now I'm still holding onto hope that once we hit Cyprus things will be a bit slower/easier...but we shall see. We leave this coming Thursday for our great adventure across the Atlantic!
I left our house in Fort Dodge for the last time on Thursday July 5th, so I've been on the move for the last ten days. I spent a good chunk of time with my family, and now we are spending time in Texas with Joel's family. I'm sure you all know how hard it can be to eat healthy when you are traveling and depending on other's hospitality. Fortunately both of our families have been really supportive of our goals, and understanding of our somewhat weird eating schedule.
We are still doing the intermittent fasting, which means we only between 11AM and 7PM. I have to say, it is working so well. It's the easiest "diet" I've found to work around other people. We can eat whatever they eat, we just have to watch the time. In the past, we would try to modify what others were eating or do our own thing entirely, which often felt awkward and like we were annoying. This is a hundreds time better. It takes a bit more effort to schedule family meals, but overall much more doable.
And, it is working, slowly but surely. I'm confident that once we add in exercise (once we get that mythical life slow down I'm waiting for) the weight will start to fall off a lot faster. At least in Cyprus we will be taking care of a dog, so at the very least we have to go on two walks a day!
