I was down at my parents today to help out with some things when I came across this picture on display.
It's one of my senior pictures, from the year I graduated high school. It brought back a lot of memories. I love the way I look in this photo - my hair, my smile, I'm wearing almost no makeup. It just seems so natural and pure. I'd like to get back to a part of who I was then - someone who had a lot of hope for the future, excitement about what was to be - possibilities seemed open.
The older I get the more I feel like my life gets decided for me - by the bills I need to pay or obligations I have to meet. Part of quitting my job was to get back that sense of freedom - but I don't quite feel that yet as much of my time and energy is still dictated by the need to have money.
Ah, to be independently wealthy (or supported by my parents like I was back then, lol).
This photo reminds me of who I was, but it also inspires me to think about who I can still be. There is hope in both, I think.
