For as long as I can remember, I get sick after big weeks.
When I was a dancer, a big week was show week. The week before was filled with late night dress rehearsals, tech run-throughs, and I never got more than four or five hours of sleep. When I did sleep, I would dream about dancing on stage, running through the actual pieces, or, sometimes I would have nightmares about showing up late for a show. It never failed that as soon as the curtain closed on the final show, I would start to get sick. The next day, I would feel like I had been hit by a truck. It always took about a week to fully recover.
Now that I'm a pastor, a big week is Holy Week. It never feels like that big of a week while it's happening, but usually when it's over, I get the sick. It came a little early this time, I actually felt pretty terrible for Easter morning but I powered through. Today I left work early, and tomorrow I doubt I'll make it out of bed.
I hope it passes quickly!
XOXO, Bethany
