Last Sunday

Today was my last official Sunday preaching at Friendship Haven.  Though I ended up working here longer than I expected, I was glad my final Sunday fell on Ascension Sunday.  It felt fitting, somehow.  My sermon came together easily, though I had a hard time getting through it without crying.  At one point I had to stare at the back wall instead of looking at people like I usually do.   Overall it was a great last day.

Today was another day that went quickly.  First, we went down to Des Moines to celebrate with our niece who is graduating from high school!  She is a valedictorian, received a lot of awards and scholarships, and has a bright future ahead of her.  It was good to see family and catch up with some old friends who were there too.

Then we swung back to Ames to visit the Longs.  I caught an adorable picture of Joel and Nora together.

LuLaRoe Inspire Tour

Today was a long, but amazing today.  I got up at 5:30 so I could hit the road by 6:30 and get to Des Moines for the LLR Inspire tour.  I spent the whole day in training, in the morning we heard from trainers and coaches, and in the afternoon we heard from some home office people.  I had way more fun than I expected, and I learned a ton.  I'm excited to see how this energizes my business from here forward!  I was so busy learning I didn't take any pictures.

Americana Live Sale

The first batch of our Americana collection arrived today!  It was just the Irmas, but we decided to do our live sale anyway.  It was the most successful one we've had so far, we sold 50% of the items we showed!

This was the picture we took after the live sale to announce a winner from the game we played.  I hope to start doing more of these soon!

Today was a great work from home day.  Joel worked on cutting up the tree that fell and picking up a million sticks.  We got a fire going early in the morning and let it go all day.  In the mean time I sat outside in a comfy camping chair, and worked on LLR from my phone!  I love, love being able to work anytime, anywhere, with Joel.

We took some quick pictures in our backyard wildflowers for Instagram:

Wear A Dress Tuesday #19

I went with a simple Nicole today for Wear a Dress Tuesday.  I did not count on the high being only 50 degrees on May 23rd.  Mother Nature has been kinda drunk lately.  Also, on my walk across campus at work, the wind tried to make me Marilyn Monroe.  I had to hang on to my skirt as tight as I could to avoid flashing anyone!

On the bright side, I took a better picture in the fallen tree today!

Tree Poses

So we tried a photo shoot in the fallen tree today.  When going through them looking for good ones, I accidentally deleted all the good ones, so I was left with this super awkward one of me holding one of the small branches and...doing a dancer pose?  I have no idea what is going on with this picture.

This afternoon we were working in the basement on new inventory, when we heard a crash and a scraping sound.  Joel ran upstairs to see if everything was alright, but the problem wasn't was outside.  This is what we discovered in the side yard:

Thor Day

So we totally should have done this on a Thursday (haha) but we decided to make today Thor day!  For some reason I got a craving to watch all the Thor movies, so we planned to re-watch the first one and rent the second.  After seeing the first one again we realized we need to watch The Avengers since it's basically Thor 1.5.

Before getting into our movies we did get some work done, so by the time we got half way through The Avengers it was 10:00!  We had to pause so I could go to bed and get up early in the morning.

Working from Home

Today was a good day for working from home with Joel.  We worked our business like a business, while still taking some time for flexibility and fun - the whole reason for doing this!  Joel got to play Diablo with his Dad, and then Heather came over for a bit to shop and hang out.

While she was here, some deer showed up in our driveway!
