Wear A Dress Tuesday #6

February 7th, 2017

Today for #WearADressTuesday I gave myself a new Nicole dress from our inventory.  This brings me up to 4 Nicole's which doesn't seem too excessive (especially when you count how many Amelia's I have).   We were kind of at a loss for a new place to take pictures, so we settled on the downstairs patio.  It was freezing out and misting, and at first Joel walked outside - ON THE ICE - barefoot!

Paper Cranes

Sometimes when I'm in a meeting at work, I find I can pay attention better if I do something with my hands.  I have no drawing talent, so doodling really doesn't help.  Often, I fall back on a habit I developed in high school - folding paper cranes.  Post-it notes are the perfect size and shape for origami so it usually works out well.

Here's the one I made today:

The Tradition Continues

Today was the Super Bowl!  I was rooting for the Falcons since I lived in Atlanta for 3 years while I was in grad school.  I rarely watch sports, and I am less than invested in the turnout of any games, but in my heart of hearts, I thought it would be nice for Atlanta win.  However, I have a long-standing tradition of any team I root for in a game losing.  Like, always.

Today we hosted a multi-consultant sale in Fort Dodge.  It was nice to already have everything packed and ready to go from last night.  I may or may not have slept in until 10 am.

Before we left, Heather and Ben stopped by for a visit.  Of course I only took a photo of Ben.  Look at that face!

Party at Kendy's

Today I got to throw a LuLaRoe Pop-up Boutique with my friend Kendy!  I drove to Iowa Falls, set up shop in her dining room, and she had a ton of friends show up to shop.  I ate way too much guacamole and Kendy earned some free clothes!

The only pic I managed to snag at the party was this one of the shopping area:

One of my favorite parts of doing LuLaRoe is helping people create outfits.  Today, a customer wanted to pair some Valentine's Day leggings with a Sarah, so I showed her several options.  I let her know which one was my favorite, and that's the once she picked!  It makes me do a little happy dance inside.

The leggings on the left are the ones she chose:

New Haircut

I have been growing my hair out since, well, since I last cut it in 2012.  Shortly after that haircut, I met Joel, and after a whirlwind romance we got married.  Joel loves long hair, and frankly, I look best with long hair, so it's been fun to grow it out.  Since we moved to Fort Dodge a year and a half ago I've only cut it once.

But lately, it's been looking a little...raggedy.  So I decided I needed a cut, and that 4-5 inches needed to go.  I went for it today and I love it!  Here's a shameless selfie to show off the new 'do:

It's the end of January!  Wowza!  Not sure where this month went....but it sure is nice to have a record to look back at!  Today was another Wear A Dress Tuesday.  I got to wear one of my favorite Carly's - it's made out of the same materials as the leggings so it is so comfortable.  I feel like I'm in pajamas all day but I look dressed up!

One of my favorite discoveries in the new year is my new favorite (only favorite?) hot sauce.  It's called "Butt burning hot sauce - habanero" and it's from a local chain called Fuzzy's Tacos.  It.  Is.  Amazing.  I've been eating it on everything lately.  Eggs.  Salad.  Well, I guess mostly my breakfast burritos and taco salads.  But I've gone through two bottles already this year.

Whirlwind Visit

Today we made a trip to Minnesota to deliver some long-over due leggings.  Like, these were purchased as a Christmas present, and we just now had time to get them delivered.  We got to see our friends the Magnuson's, their four children, and grandson (our godson) Oliver.  It was a quick trip but we had time to play Settlers of Catan (I won! [Despite Joel viciously breaking my longest road streak and giving it to Grant]).
